Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Tail Tribe. By accessing or using our platform you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms you may not use Tail Tribe.

2. Definitions

• "Platform" means the Tail Tribe website and mobile applications
• "Services" means pet sitting services facilitated through Tail Tribe
• "Owner" means a pet owner seeking sitting services
• "Sitter" means a verified individual offering pet care services
• "Booking" means a confirmed service agreement

3. Account Registration

3.1. You must be at least 18 years old to use Tail Tribe 3.2. You must provide accurate and complete information 3.3. You are responsible for maintaining account security 3.4. One person or business per account 3.5. You may not transfer your account to another party

4. User Responsibilities

For Pet Owners:

• Provide accurate information about your pet
• Disclose medical conditions, behavioural issues, and allergies
• Ensure your pet is vaccinated and licensed as required by law
• Pay the agreed booking amount through the platform

For Sitters:

• Complete the full verification process before accepting bookings
• Provide accurate information about your home and experience
• Maintain a safe environment for pets in your care
• Respond to booking requests within 24 hours
• Never request payment outside the Tail Tribe platform

5. Booking and Payment Terms

5.1. All bookings must be made through the Tail Tribe platform 5.2. A 10% service fee applies to all bookings paid by the Owner 5.3. Payment is processed at booking confirmation 5.4. Sitters receive payment 24 hours after booking completion 5.5. Owners and Sitters may not circumvent the platform to avoid fees

6. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Owner Cancellations:

• More than 7 days before start: 100% refund
• 2-7 days before start: 50% refund
• Less than 48 hours before start: No refund

Sitter Cancellations:

• Cancelling a confirmed booking results in a ranking penalty
• Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension
• Emergency cancellations are reviewed case by case

7. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

• Provide false or misleading information
• Abuse, harass, or threaten other users
• Use the platform for illegal purposes
• Share login credentials with others
• Scrape or collect data from the platform
• Interfere with platform operations

8. Liability and Disclaimers

8.1. Tail Tribe is a marketplace platform connecting Owners and Sitters 8.2. We do not provide pet sitting services directly 8.3. Tail Tribe is not liable for disputes between Owners and Sitters 8.4. Services are provided "as is" without warranties 8.5. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the booking

9. Insurance and Protection

9.1. Sitters are encouraged to maintain appropriate insurance 9.2. Tail Tribe does not provide insurance coverage 9.3. Owners are responsible for their pet's veterinary care

10. Data and Privacy

Your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using Tail Tribe you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. South African Law

11.1. These terms are governed by South African law 11.2. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts 11.3. We comply with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act)

12. Termination

12.1. You may close your account at any time 12.2. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms 12.3. Termination does not affect existing booking obligations

13. Changes to Terms

13.1. We may update these terms at any time 13.2. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance 13.3. Material changes will be notified via email
